DEACON FARAG ABDEL ELMSEH
The Coptic churches in Egypt
and the migration countries farewelled the deacon Farag
Abdel Elmseh for the hope of his resurrection. He was born on the 28th of Dec
1921. He studied in Alklerkea
as a soloist under the deacon Mikhael Gergis Albatanony. He worked in St Mary’s church but Father Dawd El Makary had a strong
feeling that Deacon Farag was better off to serve
with him. So he taught all the deacons the hymns of the church. As the deacons
improved in their performance all the deacons from Alexandria to Cairo were
asking him to teach them. As the deacons
rely on him to put them to their preferred church he became the head of the
deacon foundation. As he was
knowledgeable of the Coptic dogmas and the Arabic language he wrote the book
“The Service of Deacons” as well as other books. His books are being reprinted many times
until today. As he taught for many
generations these priests and deacons served the Coptic churches also in
Australia and America. The church farewelled him in April 2000. May God bless his soul.
Dear reader,
Farag Abdel Elmseh recognized the importance of the
Coptic dogma and language and the hymns and spent all his life teaching with
honesty and spiritual ambition generation after generation.
